Made to order & delivery
What does “made to order” mean?
Every SIKAMS piece is crafted after you order it — we don't hold shelves of stock. Your piece is made and hand-finished for you in our Bali atelier, then shipped. It's why there's a short wait, and why each piece carries the small variations of something made by hand.
How long until my piece is ready?
Most pieces are crafted in around 2–3 weeks. After that, delivery is fast: tracked DHL Express, usually 3–6 working days to the UK and Australia. You'll get a maker's note and certificate with every order.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Because each piece is made to order, we begin crafting soon after you order — so we can't cancel or change an order once it's placed. If the piece isn't right when it arrives, you're covered by our 30-day return.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We currently ship to the UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and across the EU. Duties and taxes are shown at checkout where applicable.
Materials & quality
What are your pieces made of?
Solid 925 sterling silver as our core, 18k gold vermeil, and select solid 9ct and 18ct gold. No plating over base metals, no filler — real, solid materials, with the weight in grams stated on every product.
What is gold vermeil — and is it better than plating?
Yes. Vermeil is a thick layer of real gold over solid sterling silver. Ours is 18k gold at 3 microns — above the legal standard of 2.5 — over solid 925, with a nickel-free palladium barrier. Standard “gold plated” is usually a fraction of that thickness over cheaper base metal.
Will my silver tarnish?
Solid sterling silver can slowly tarnish over time through contact with air and skin — that's normal for real silver, and a sign it's solid metal rather than a coating. It polishes back to shine easily with a soft cloth. Our vermeil's gold layer and palladium barrier slow tarnishing considerably.
Are your pieces suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. Our vermeil uses a nickel-free palladium barrier, and solid 925 and solid gold are well tolerated by most sensitive skin.
Sizing
How do I find my size?
Each product page has a size guide with measurements. If you're between sizes or unsure, measure a piece you already wear and compare — or reach out and we'll help.
What if I order the wrong size?
We'll send you a new size, free of charge. Just contact us within your return window.
Returns & warranty
Can I return my piece?
Yes — you have 30 days to return an unworn piece in its original condition. Because pieces are made to order, we can't cancel an order once placed, but the 30-day return means you can still send it back if it isn't right.
Do you offer a warranty?
Every piece comes with a 3-year warranty against manufacturing and material faults. This covers faults in the making — not normal wear, accidental damage, or loss. If something's wrong with the craftsmanship, we'll put it right.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. Every piece is delivered with a maker's note and a certificate — your record of what it's made of and that it was made for you.
Care
How do I care for my piece?
Store it dry, away from other pieces to avoid scratches. Polish silver with a soft cloth to keep its shine. Put jewellery on last — after perfume, lotion and hairspray — and take it off before swimming, showering or sleeping.
Can it get wet?
Occasional contact with water won't harm solid silver or gold, but we'd avoid prolonged exposure — pools, showers and the sea shorten the life of any finish, especially on vermeil.
